The past month or so in LYA has had many exciting events both in and outside the
Bet Midrash. Here are just a few of the highlights.

Yam LeYam - Coast to Coast trip.
|

|
We walked about 60 kilometers over three days in rain and sunshine, camping out,
preparing food over the fire, Davening in the great outdoors, and taking in the
incredible and breathtaking views Israel has to offer.

Chanukah |
|
|
During Chanukah and immediately following it we had a number of events: Intensive
Bet Midrash studying about Chanukah. Chanukah party with live music, dancing, Divrei
Torah, buffet, and lots of suganiyot. A musical Hallel Teffila. Flag run to Gamla.
And an exciting and very informative talk from Michael Ben Chorin about the war
strategies of the Chashmonaim armies.

Alumni Brandon Gelbart has just returned to Israel and will be joining Tzahal
on November 26th to the Nachal Charedi. Alumni, and fresh Chattan, Avichai Mitchell
will G-D willing be joining Tzahal together with Brandon. Alumni David Levin has
received his Golani Beret after a 21-kilometer rigorous hike of his elite unit.
Alumni Raffi Bitterli serving in the Nachal Charedi, will be G-D willing attending
officers training school shortly. Kol HaKavod!!!! May Hashem protect you as you
protect us.

doing rigorous research about the many meanings, lessons, and teachings we can learn
