Shavuot |

In preparation for Matan-Torah we have been studying about a variety of issues such
as, the different names of Shavuot and their significance. The background to the
story of Ruth, lessons to be learned from the story itself, and the important role
it plays in Jewish theology, and in depth study of Midrashim concerning Moshe's
ascent on Mt. Sinai.

Lag BaOmer |

|
On Motzei Shabbat-Lag Baomer we had a huge bonfire in Avnei Eitan, enjoyed some
good food, and discussed the significance of the day. Late into the night we traveled
to Meron where together with approximately 350 thousand other people we sung, danced
and celebrated the Chag late in to the morning.

Nahal |

|
About a week ago we were visited by a top officer of the Nachal infantry brigade
who shared some information and answered questions about serving in his brigade.
|
|
|
Yom Yerushalaim |
|
|
On Yom Yerushalayim eve, the Mechina joined the festive Teffilot in the nearby Hispin
Hesder Yeshiva which was followed by a fun meal and a screening of video clips showing
the miraculous victory of the six day war. The next day we traveled to Yerushalayim
where we participated in the traditional flag parade to the old city

Survival week |
|
|
Before Pesach the the Talmidin spent 4 days in the dessert on a challenging, intense,
and growing experience. Through this time the Talmidim enjoyed the spectacular desert
view, successfully learned how to work as a united collective, and most importantly
discovered how to push themselves beyond their limits. Now we have a great video

Alumni Update |

- Shalom Bar-Eretz and Aaron Fischer were released from the army. We wish them much
success.
- David Botnik got engaged, the wedding will be Beezrat Hashem in late August.

- Avichai Mitchell, Gershon Tannenbaum, Brandon Gelbert enlisted in Nahal Charedi.
- Yair Stern will get married in August, Mazal Tov!
- Michael Lunzer enlisted in the Nahal Unit
- Yaakov Yudkin will be enlisting in the coming month.
- Congratulations to our student B.S.S., who was accepted to the I.D.F. School for
Pilots. The School for Pilots is one of the most selective divisions of the Israeli
Army.
